She is a resident of the Lough and has lived in the locality of Togher for 75 years. Mary holds a teaching qualification and is passionate about writing and developing our native language. Mary has extensive experience within the charity sector. She fundraised for the Irish Cancer Society and subsequently worked as an administrator in the Cork Office. Since retirement, Mary has coordinated the Cork South COPD Support Group, which aims to improve the lives of people living with a chronic lung disease. She is passionate about positive aging and admires the work of Age Action Ireland. Mary has previously supported coordination of the fitting of 300 personal alarms for the elderly in the Togher area. Mary has long admired the work of Togher Family Centre and wanted to be a part of delivering Togher Family Centre’s vision “A future of Opportunity for all”.
