Placements & Mentoring

Complete your internship with us. We welcome local, national and international students. We accept both short and long term student placements, work placements, and internships. 

Students play a vital role in the life of Togher Family Centre and support the work we do. You can help make a difference by choosing to undertake your work or student placement with Togher Family Centre. Consider which of our services best suit your study programme and grow as part of our dynamic team. 
 
We provide a range of learning environments for students who are accepted for placement. We provide opportunities in all of our departments and settings. 

  • Designed to help people get back into the workforce 
  • Designed to educate participants as they work 
  • Provide a pathway to career opportunities 
  • Ideally allow participants to work in their locality 
  • Those in receipt of a DSP payment 
  • In receipt of a payment for at least 12 months 
  • Eligible payments include Jobseekers, Disability. 
  • Over 21yrs of age / Under retirement age 
  • Work part time for 3 years with an enhanced Social Welfare payment 
  • Complete training in Early Years (Level 5 & 6)  
  • All training paid for by the scheme 
  • Emerge after 3 years as a qualified Early Years Professional with experience of working in an early years service 
  • Childcare Level 5 & 6 training 
  • 6 modules to complete 
  • One virtual online class each week in the evening 
  • Assignments 
  • Child Safeguarding 
  • Manual Handling 
  • First Aid
  • 22.25 hours per week  
  • mornings or afternoons 
  • Annual leave: Midterms, Easter, Christmas 
  • Majority of August off
