Sarah Gallagher is Togher Youth Resilience Project (Happy Hub) Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Social Science (B.Soc.Sc) from UCC. She also holds a Masters (Level 9) from UCC in Community and Voluntary Sector Management (M.Soc.Sc). Sarah is trained in Child Protection, First Aid Responder, HACCP- level 1 and 2 as well as manual handling. Sarah has a level 6 certificate in Training and Development (Train the Trainer).
Sarah has worked in the community and voluntary sector for 8 years. Sarah continues to work occasionally as a Personal Assistant in the youth service for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland. Sarah has worked in a family support environment with the TUSLA Springboard project. Sarah ran a registered charity called Turas le Chéile (Sept 2009 – Sept 2017) which aimed to fund primary and secondary treatment for drug and alcohol addicts. During this time Sarah worked on an ongoing basis with ex-offenders, drug and alcohol addicts.
Sarah led an overseas Serve volunteer program in India during the summer of 2017. She worked with some of the most marginalised communities and projects in India. Some of these include a leprosy clinic (Sumanahalli), a disability unit (APD) and an orphanage for boys (Morning Star).
