Aedin Lehane is an Early Years (Age 3-5) Supervisor in Togher Family Centre. Aedin has being working in Togher Family Centre for the past 17 years. During this time Aedin implemented a child centred and age appropriate programme. Aedin also has experience working in the Preschool utilising the High/Scope approach.
Aedin holds a certificate in FETAC Level 5 and 6 in Early Childcare and High/Scope implementation. Aedin also holds many certificates relating to early years education including Buntús, which promotes physical activity and the Elklan speech and language training for under 5 year olds. Aedin recently completed a Language and Literacy course entitled ‘Growing Readers’ and works closely with BEAG, the Early Years Arts Project.
Aedin has completed training in Child Protection and Domestic Violence Awareness and is a trained Parent Plus facilitator. Aedin is particularly interested in the implementation of a quality play curriculum framework for the under 3 year olds. Aedin focuses on children’s strengths and needs through observations throughout the school term and has completed training in Aistear and Síolta. Aedin recently completed First Aid Responder training and CFR Community – Salbutamol.Aedin has also completed a training course in PECS ( Picture Exchange Communication Systems).
